Gizmo VOIP phone Review

Being the type of person to boycott a company whose grown too big for their britches without hesitation, I grew weary of telecoms long ago.
So naturally when Gizmoproject.com released their *VOIP phone software, I downloaded it immediately and put it to work.
It was for me an answered prayer. Literally something I had hoped the universe would bring two or three weeks before I happened upon it.
I was running an older pc at the time, and even on an older pc, Gizmo ran decently. VOIP phones are alot like cellphones used to be, before cell phone technology improved.
You can expect dropped calls, but the dramatic difference in pricing to place a call to a landline phone with a VOIP phone vs. a cell phone will make most consumers change their minds about their current options once VOIP technology is streamlined enough, and smartphones are affordable for the average person.
Gizmo is pretty functional, and not at all hard on the eyes.
You can even cash in on an area775 number for free and have people call you at your Gizmo phone only paying a 1 and a half cent per minute fee with no monthly rate (at the time of this review writing that is–rates can change).
Gizmoproject.com also accepts paypal for payments which can be convenient and secure. If you need to relieve a refund, Gizmo will refund you your remaining balance.
As to whether they can compete with Skype?
It is doubtful while Skype is running their current campaign.
With Skype you get the same service plus the ability to send large files to your friends and even charge for calls if you wish to be a consultant. They also have a plan that gives you unlimited minutes for a year for 24.99
That’s difficult to compete with.
One advantage Gizmo, Skype and other VOIP phones like Google Talk share, is that talking from pc to pc is free.
